The existence of a Download Manager or download accelerator on my Manjaro Linux is very important. The built in download manager on Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome is not enough for me and could be for you as well. I need something more features and more powerful download manager for Manjaro.
Xtreme Download Manager on Manjaro 16.10 |
My favorite download manager on Linux are UGet and Xtreme Download Manager. But here I just want to discuss a little bit about Xtreme Download Manager (XDM). The new XDM 2015 5.0.47 is available through AUR Repository on Manjaro.
Why Xtreme Download Manager
There are several reasons why I love XDM to be my favorite. First thing is the interface. XDM features a very simple user interface with file menu on the top right where all features of this download manager hide. XDM supports batch download, YouTube Downloader, Pause, Resume and it integrates with Google Chrome and Firefox.
To download YouTube video, simply copy the video URL and then go to File | Youtube Download and paste the URL. Its pretty easy.
Install Xtreme Download Manager on Manjaro
XDM is available in AUR repository. Make sure you have enabled AUR on Manjaro. To install XDM on Manjaro, simply open Pamac-Manager (Add/Remove Software) and then type xdman. You should see xdman is listed in AUR tab. Mark it for installation and press OK. Then follow the installation instruction shown on screen.
